Good Smells & A Giveaway

There is nothing that I love more than a good-smelling house. Have you ever walked into someone’s home and it just stinks? I have a perpetual fear of this, so much so that anyone who has been to my house, knows that I (almost) always have a candle burning.

I love candles year round, but my very favorite scents for this time of year are pumpkin spice, hazelnut cream and mulled cider. Yum! I love how candles make it smell like I’ve been baking even when I haven’t. There are a lot less calories involved in the smell too! Ha!

Recently, I was contacted by My Blog Spark, to review the new Febreze Home Collection. I am so excited to participate in this because, well, I just love good smells and pretty things!

This collection blends great “scents” and current design. Being an interior designer, it is incredibly important to me how things look. For example, I’m not a huge fan of the massive air freshener cans that sit on the toilet tank. Please don’t hate me if you have one sitting in your bathroom right now!

Anyway, I love this new collection’s wide range of possibilities. There are four different scents: Cranberry Pear (perfect for this time of year!), Willow Blossom (very fresh!), Green Tea and Pomegranate Mango. You can purchase either a room spray, soy candle, flameless luminary or a reed diffuser.

I have always been really skeptical of reed diffusers because I think they are trendy and people don’t throw them away when the “juice” is gone so they just look gunked up with dust. But, I’m very much enjoying my Green Tea diffuser.

I’m in love with the flameless luminary as well. It is a wonderful “look-like-a-candle” and “smell-like-a-candle” without being a candle. I’m really starting to think about these kinds of safety features since I have a Little Man who is going to be on the move very soon.

The soy candle is great and lasts for-ever…about 30-40 hours! And of course, folks, my Green Tea room spray is sitting on the back of the toilet in the guest bathroom. Ha!

Best of all, My Blog Spark and Febreze provided a $20 Walmart gift card for one of my readers to try out the new Febreze Home Collection.

  2. WooHoo! Myra I love my soy candle, so that would be my favorite and I would choose the Cranberry and Pear scent.

  3. I enjoyed your wordless Wednesday pictures in the post before!

I also have been skeptical of reed diffusers. I am so afraid that it would just get knowcked over, forgotten about and, like you said, gunked up with dust. I think I would like to try one someday still though! The Willow Blossom one sounds just great!

I hear ya on the smells! I LOVE having candles burning! I am nervous as well though. Our daughter is now pulling up, she crawls all over and I can't take my eye off of her for one minute!

    Great blog!

  4. Oh I would love the Cranberry Pear – I love holiday scents, too. And I'd like the soy candle – I have a high enough shelf to keep it safe, but still love my candles. =)

    Great review & giveaway!

  5. Long time no see! I too absolutely love the fall scents of candles. I have one burning in the kitchen all day – Autum something (which isn't real descriptive) but you can image the scent 🙂

Love the photos of Ridley on the previous post!

  6. I'd like to try the Cranberry Pear one! And I'm already a follower of your blog, I don't know if that gives me an extra entry or not 🙂

  7. Hello Myra – I found your blog through BlogFrog and wanted to come over and say welcome! BTW, I really love the blog template you use and how you have it layed out. Which blog template is it? You have done a lovely job!

  8. I would definitely choose the Cranberry Pear soy candle. I love the flame of a real candle. Those few seconds that I can stop and stare at it as I whisk by on to the next task make lighting it worth the while!

  9. Oh I am tossed up between the green tea and the pomegranate mango – both sound like they would smell delicious.

The luminary is absolutely beautiful; I think I would be leaning that way for sure!

  10. I would definitely pick the reed diffuser…love those things!!! thanks for the chance 🙂

  11. I love the Cranberry Pear scent, and I think I would try the flameless luminary. My toddler finds the soy candles too tempting to leave alone (she will even scale the bookcase), so I've had to discontinue using them.

  16. Myra, I would choose the cranberry pear soy candle… I grew up in the middle of "cranberry country" in southeastern MA and the cranberry scent is a big reminder of home to me, especially this time of year!

  17. Hi Myra – I have really enjoyed your blog! I think I would choose the cranberry pear in the flameless luminary. Hope you have a great day!
