Relevant Conference Ticket Giveaway

Several months ago, I first heard about the Relevant Conference.  Relevant was born as three wonderful women (bloggers) talked about living intentionally.  After reading Relevant’s mission statement, I was hooked.

The Relevant Conference exists to offer a place of face to face interaction with Christian women bloggers who want to be relevant in the larger blog and social media world. Our goal is to go beyond the surface into intentional blogging and real life living. We support women turning their hearts toward home and using their blogs to bless their families while also engaging the world for the glory of God. Relevant is a one-of-a-kind conference that seeks to engage women by teaching blogging techniques and social media skill while also urging and encouraging women to live fully integrated lives with their faith and family.

I’m thrilled to be attending Relevant in October! And I absolutely can’t wait to meet many online friends in real life! 🙂

My sister, Kelly, opened Kelly Joy Boutique in April. Kelly Joy Boutique is your one-stop-shop for all kinds of handmade flair for girls of all ages. Kelly makes Daisy Hair Clips, Buttercup Hair Clips, Ruffle Ribbon Hair Clips, and Flower Brooches.

Besides the items that can be found in her shop, Kelly also makes custom items. She has made Kanzashi flower hairclips for bridal attendants as well as up to 30 flower brooches for one customer.

Collegiate Hairclips and/or Brooches are in the works, so if you have a favorite team, be sure to tell Kelly over on her Facebook page!

Kelly Joy Boutique is thrilled to be a sponsor of the Relevant Conference. Every Relevant attendee will be receiving a product from Kelly Joy Boutique! Squee! Since Kelly, who is expecting, won’t be attending Relevant in October, she asked me to give away her ticket on my blog! How fun!

  1. I have never gone to a blogging conference before. To be honest (and a tad corny), none of them have felt particularly “relevant” for this season in my life. I can only imagine how fulfilling it would be to attend a conference full of like-minded and inspiring women who can encourage each other. I have hopes that Relevant will not be as much of a “popularity contest” as some other conferences I’ve read about. I had enough of that in junior high. 😉

  2. I would love to have this ticket! I could not afford to buy a ticket to Relevant. I am a stay at home, homeschooling, blogging mom of 3, and it just wasn’t in the budget. I think the opportunities at Relevant will be huge! To network and learn from/with other christian woman! I just hope that if I don’t make it this year, maybe I can go next!

Thanks for this awesome opportunity to try to win a ticket!

  3. I would LOVE to go to Relevant! I’ve actually been thinking (and praying) about it for nearly 5 weeks. I love blogging and I am at the point where I’m ready to step it up and take my blog to the “next level”. From everything I’ve heard so far, Relevant will be just the thing I need to do that.
    I know it’s a step I need to take, but unfortunately, finances still play a role too…darn! I haven’t committed yet because I’m still trying to weigh all the options and see if there might be an opportunity for a partial sponsorship {or for fun giveaways like this!}
Thanks to you and Kelly Joy for offering this…I know whoever wins this ticket will be blessed by the conference and by your generosity!

  4. I, too, was hooked after reading the mission statement for Relevant–specifically the line you highlighted in bold. God has definitely turned my heart towards home since having my son and blogging is a way I bless my family–capturing memories and stories I want my children to remember, encouraging other moms in the journey of motherhood by blogging for The MOB Society, sharing our faith and God’s provision for our lives, and yes, even monetarily blessing my family’s tight budget by promoting my Etsy shop (Stitches by Sara). I want to go to Relevant to learn more about the ins & outs of blogging and social media, be encouraged by other Christian bloggers through friendships/mingling/networking, and learn how to use my blog for Heavenly purposes…not promoting toothpaste and cleaning products. I’m already planning on going, but a free ticket sure would bless my family’s tight budget. Thanks for the opportunity ladies!

  5. I can’t wait to meet all the sweet online friends I’ve met in person at Relevant! I’m looking forward to also gaining insights into how to continue to use my blog for His glory!!

  6. I would love to go to Relevant 2010 because…I’m a new blogger, I desire to spur other women on to Biblical thinking and contentment within the role God has designed for them, and being around other Christian women bloggers has just GOT to be fun, encouraging, and inspiring!

  7. I want to attend Relevant because I think it will stretch my faith, introduce me to women of Godly character, and take my blog to new heights. The mission statement is what sold me and the fact that I can commute to it, if need be. I am super excited about this giveaway! The friendships and the speakers already stretch my faith, my mothering, my marriage, and so much online. I really just cannot wait to be surrounded by the speakers and attendees to take in their wisdom and experiences.

  8. Oh my, where do I start?! I really wanted to attend Relevant mainly for the fellowship with other women believers who love Christ and just happen to love blogging 🙂 I also really wanted to hear the guest speakers and soak up their wisdom. I contemplated attending Blogher last year but it just didn’t ‘feel’ right. From the moment Sarah Mae tweeted about it, I wanted to be there. I have accepted that God closed all doors for me NOT to go…but winning a ticket would be a huge OPEN one! 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity!

  9. why do I want to go to Relevant? Because I would love to learn more about blogging, social networking in a Christ-honoring environment. I’ve been blogging since 2005 and have never been to any of the popular conferences you hear about due to finances (wow, does this economy stink!) and, mostly, I’m not sure I would fit in anywhere else but Relevant. A lot of my blog/twitter friends are going to Relevant too. I would be tickled to meet you all!

Relevant seems to be geared toward ministry and I do look at blogging, facebook, twitter as ministry, not so much as a profitable business for me.

  10. Wow! The Relevant conference would be an amazing chance to not only meet my bloggy friends in real life, but also to learn!! I am very much a novice at social media things like twitter. And I so badly want to learn it, and get good at it. And use it to help make God famous. I would absolutely love the opportunity to go.

  11. And I would LOVE to win tickets to learn how to incorporate my Christian walk into my biz and blog – how to call readers to action, spur on conversation – not judge but share my faith in a very real way.

I cannot wait to meet other believers + discuss how we can make a difference in the blogging world!

  12. I want to go to the Relevant Conference to gain some real Christian vision for my blog. I want to be around other amazing women, get to know them and hear their story. I also really want to get out of the house. I love my kiddos but daddy has gotten to leave several times and it would be great for him to be home with the kids a bit!

  13. I would love to go to the Relevant Conference. I have had one blog or another since I was about 13, but more recently I have been putting more effort into my blog, and would love to gather with a bunch of Christian women and learn how to grow it so it can be a blessing to others and to my family, by earning income as a blogger.

  14. I would love to go to the Relevant conference for a few reasons. The first and main is that God has given me such joy from writing. My blog has given me a place to sort through my thoughts, to laugh at my parenting follies, and to confess where I want to improve. And the biggest blessing is to hear from others that my blog is helping them, as well. If the Relevant conference will help me learn how to reach others for God’s glory, then that is where I want to be!

I would also love to meet some of the fabulous women that I follow on Twitter, and, selfishly, the idea of a little break from the kiddos sounds really nice, too! 🙂 Unfortunately, the conference is quite far away from me, so I would need to buy airfare, as well. I don’t know if we can afford all of these costs right now, so if I won a ticket, I might be able to swing the rest!

  15. I would love to go to Relevant for SO many reasons! My sponsor fell through and I cannot afford the ticket and stay. I have so many ideas bouncing around my head to influence women and I need VISION for my blog. I want so much to be there with like-minded bloggers and be encouraged and challenged. I am eager to learn how to balance life’s necessities and my desires for the blog. I feel like I have so much to say, so much to offer…but not enough time, not enough resources.

I would love to be at Relevant to hopefully soak in the wisdom and experience from seasoned/successful bloggers. Thanks so much for an awesome opportunity!

  16. I don’t need a ticket- I’ve already got one… but I just want to say that the hair clips are adorable!

And Good Luck to all of you other ladies~ this is a fabulous prize!

  17. I would love to go to Relevant and meet other Christian bloggers and learn how to balance my blog with my family and Christian walk (with Christ first and family before blogging!) There are so many wonderful women who will be speaking at the conference and attending that I would love to get the chance to meet and develop friendships with! (And strengthen the relationships with those I have already met!)

If I was to win a ticket we could afford for my husband to go with me on the trip so he can help me care for our son [since I’m nursing I can’t leave him several days and I’m afraid a 6 month old would be a distraction to other attendees…due to fussiness & cuteness 🙂 !]

How wonderful for Kelly to bless another blogger with this opportunity!

  18. I would love to attend this conference because I love blogging and the outlet it gives us to share with others about the things we enjoy and things that are close to our hearts. I have personally witnessed the amazing tool that blogging can be to encourage, uplift and challenge women. I feel blessed to be a part of the world of mommy blogging and love the friends I have met here. I believe that blogging is a God-given way for women in our day to connect on a deeper level and encourage one another in motherhood, marriage, and personal relationship with God. Yeah for blogging! I’d love to meet other bloggers with that same passion!

  19. I would love to go to Relevant so that I can meet so many of my bloggy friends face to face. When I started blogging, I had no idea that I would form such amazing friendships…and I can’t wait to meet them IRL!

  20. I want to go to Relevant Conference because I too, was inspired by the mission statement, particularly this part:
“We support women turning their hearts toward home and using their blogs to bless their families while also engaging the world for the glory of God. ”
I would love to go and learn how to better my blogging skills to bless others with my gift of encouragement, as well as make some new friends and develop a support circle of fellow bloggers & believers!

    Thanks for offering this!

  22. Hi –

This could be an answer to my prayers…. I am on my way to being a stay-at-home mom who will also be home schooling (yikes!). But I so desperately yearn to do something more to help support my family (proverbs 31 woman is my desire!). I just don’t know where or how to start. This conference could give me the opportunities of a life-time to meet with other women who could mentor and help me along the way. I have the desire and energy to do start something up – I just don’t know where to start. Thank you.

    Jessica Bish

  23. I have been wanting to go to this conference since I first heard about it! I have recently become a work from home mom, and through my blog I have been able to share my daughter’s life and my grief. I would love for money to come in through the blog to help support the non-profit that we are beginning which is called Joy in the Morning (Psalms 30:5) which will offer support to families who have lost a child.

  25. Relevant has been a niggling in my head since I spoke to you at Blissdom. It sounded like the kind of conference that would encourage me in my goals as a blogger and as a mother. I looked into it when I got home, and sure enough! The mission statement spoke to my heart. I find myself perusing the site and reading about the attendees and checking out their blogs, thinking of how much fun it would be to meet face to face with some of these ladies. To encourage and be encouraged, not just over the time of the conference, but beyond that.

  27. I want to go to the Relevant Conference because I am desiring to focus my blog and give my writing purpose. I also am dying to meet (you!) and lots of my other blog friends there. I am in learning mode right now and Relevant would be such an amazing way for me to be able to develop my skills!

  28. I would really like to win because I know I have the potential to make my blog more accessible and enriching for the moms of today, my ideas are there, I just need to formulate them correctly. I need to surround myself with a group of great bloggers that can challenge me and encourage me in venture as first a mom, second a blogger. This would be a great opportunity to network and meet some amazing women!

  29. I am wanting to attend Relevant so very badly! I have “met” several wonderful woman since launching my product and would LOVE to meet them face-to-face. As a Christian entrepreneur, I would love to meet the many faith filled customers to I have gotten to know online. I am inspired by so many of the wonderful women who will be attending, and it just kills me to think I am missing the opportunity to meet them, learn from them, strengthen friendships, and just have fun with them! I would be THE Happiest girl ever if I were to win! Thank you both so much for the chance to attend! 🙂

  30. I need to get my blogging mojo back and I want to be purposeful about what I write, about how I invest my time in my blog. I want to be thought provoked and soulfully encouraged. When I lived in Hawaii I blogged everyday. Life was laid back and easier. My kids wore less clothes, I did less laundry, and we played more. I blogged more about our island lives. Then we moved to San Diego. I was pregnant, and we bought a foreclosed house where the previous owners even stripped even the toilet seats. I am not kidding. We had so much work to do to finish. Pregnancy and fixing a house and chasing after two small boys was enough to make me pass out and sleep before I could blog each night. Then I had a newborn son. And five months later when I was starting to feel rested we found out we were moving. And that is a whole other story. Now we are here on the east coast. I finally am SUPER confident about what I want to blog about…raising three awesome little men to be awesome little husbands, to be little lights, to be leaders, protectors, to be full of integrity. My task is awesome, and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to Relevant to be inspired. I have never been to a blogging conference before. PLUS, in a home with three little boys, and one amazing husband, I need my girl time, even if I am in the most awesome Princess Protection Program ever. Well, you said to tell why we wanted to go to the Relevant conference and to make it good. It is all juicy, and it is all true. (((HUGS)))

  31. I’d love to go to the Relevant Conference because I began my blog with a vision of being able to serve the Lord by encouraging and helping other moms while staying home and serving my family. Relevant’s vision is our family’s vision.

Since I just had our 10th baby, I’ve been reevaluating my priorities and wondering about the role that Raising Olives should continue to play in our family’s life.

  35. Finally, why I want to attend Relevant10… The last month has been one of the most difficult of my life. After trying to conceive for almost 2 years, my husband and I were finally pregnant. But earlier this month we miscarried at almost 12 weeks. Three days later we left our jobs and moved to another state. We still don’t have a place of our own to live and are living with my mom and sister until we do.

The outpouring of love and support and prayers I received from my online friends following this craziness has been humbling and so encouraging. To have the opportunity to hug them in real life would just be amazing. To be surrounded by my ‘friends in the computer’, learn how to be a better blogger, and refine the ways I can bless my family through my blog, all enveloped in Christ… awesome.

I want to attend Relevant10 to learn all these things and more, and to be able to really hug the ladies who have offered such love to me through my computer screen.

  37. Why do I want to go to Relevant?
1- its more “relevant” to me as a born-again Christian blogger than the secular conferences (I think) though I’ve never been to a blog conf. yet.
2- I feel like I “know” more women connected to this event.
3- Its closer to home (Ohio).
4- I need to learn more about growing my blog and networking with likeminded women out in the blogosphere.

  38. I would love to go to Relevant for a few reasons:

    1) I love what it’s about. It sounds like blog conference and Christian women’s conference all rolled into one…and I’ve never been to either type of conference.

    2) So many of my favorite bloggers are going and I would love the opportunity to meet them IRL

    3) It sounds like it’s going to be the most meaningful blog conference to date.

  39. I would absolutely LOVE to go to Relevant to meet women who love God and love their families, who write to grow and encourage and not to get famous or powerful (hah!) or wealthy. To hear Ann Voskamp in person, a woman whose wisdom and grace in the face of pain and trial inspires me to keep pushing through my own pain and loss. To deepen friendships made online. To further develop my writing so that I can in some small way encourage others who yet may walk the road of loss that I’m on now.

Thank you to KellyJoy for sponsoring this giveaway!

  40. I am continuing to believe for God to make a way for me to go to Relevant 10. I so want to connect IRL with the many Christian women I’ve met and gotten to know in the virtual world! I would love to chat and laugh and be silly and really get to know them and their hearts for their families and God!

  41. I want to attend Relevant because…

…I want to BE relevant. 🙂
…I am new to blogging and think this would really give me a jumpstart.
…I am striving to create a platform for older women to mentor younger women, and that encapsulated Relevant’s missions/goals.
…I think it would be an absolute BLAST!!!
