ProFlowers Bonsai {Giveaway!}
Okay, you might think it’s a tad crazy that I’m reviewing a bonsai tree. Maybe it is a little strange for me – the possessor of the brownest blackest of all thumbs.
I love plants. Really I do. But, their lifespan tends to be very short at my house. Ahem.
Since receiving my fabulous Golden Gate Ficus Bonsai from ProFlowers, I’ve remembered to water it faithfully and it’s looking quite healthy! I’m really quite impressed with my bonsai-growing capabilities.

Did you know that the word ‘bonsai’ means “little trees in pots?” I mean, seriously. So clever!
The indoor bonsai originated in Asia, but has been adopted into Western culture as a popular art form. I love the beauty, life and interest that the bonsai brings into my home.
As I mentioned, taking care of a bonsai is relatively easy. Before I agreed to do this review and giveaway, I carefully researched how much “work” (i.e. brain power to remember to water the tree) was involved. I water my bonsai every two or three days and I have it sitting on a plate with water in it so that the soil doesn’t dry out.
This mini tree is workin’ for me! I can’t believe that it’s looking so good!

I have never had a Bonsai tree before! My favorite indoor plant is an African Violet. I had one for many years that my husband bought me for my desk at work. I was heart broken when the stem was accidently broken and it died. I didn’t know you could become so attached to a plant! 🙂
My favorite plant is the spider plant-that’s about the only thing I haven’t killed! I’d love to give the Bonsai tree a try!
My favorite indoor plant is a small pot of bamboo. It was given as a house warming gift 3 years ago. I water it MAYBE every 2 weeks. It is the easiest plant I’ve ever owned.

My favorite plant is an aloe plant….I always like to have aloe around for burns. It is also relatively easy to keep alive which is key!
My favorite is my Christmas Cactus, my boss gave it to me about three years ago and amazingly it’s still alive. I love plants but have a hard time keeping them alive.

I have always wanted to try bonsai!
My favorite indoor plant is a palm tree sort of plant. I bought it for $5 about 15 years ago. It has a story of its own: it’s moved to two new homes with us, one team of movers broke it (but it grew back), and so on. It must be six feet tall now, and it would probably be taller if it didn’t bend down to stay in the light from the window!

I would have to say it is the Rosemary plant that I have growing in my kitchen. I started it from seed and it has been going for 2-3 yrs now.
My favorite indoor plants are succulents. I have a jade plant that I’ve had for over twenty years, and it has spawned hundreds of cuttings and new plants.

Love africian violets…I cann’t get them to grow for anything..but my mom has the green thumb with them!
Its a tough one for me…I love African violets and have killed two that were a wedding gift. I tend to water, forget them, pour on the water, etc. African violets aren’t as forgiving.
The other fave would be Christmas cactus. My mom had one for awhile and we loved its cheery blooms in the winter.
My favorite indoor plant is a peace lily because it’s the one plant I don’t seem to kill! 🙂
Oh goodness! How I would love some sort of plant that would stay alive! I’ve killed ferns, potted herbs, and even the plant that my mom swore was the easiest to grow! Oh dear oh dear!
Hopefully the bonsai will have a better fate if I win! I promise I’ll try hard 🙂

I like spider plants or ivy, we have an ivy plant that goes around the whole room, so pretty!

Oh my gosh, I would looooooove a Bonsai tree! I’ve been meaning to start my own for years, but other projects always seem to crowd it out.
