During the first 3/4 of the year, we lived in a rented town home, so project possibilities were limited. Since moving to my dear Memaw’s home, I have projects galore. I’m confident that 2014 is going to be an awesome year! 🙂

Looking back, here are my favorite 10 projects from 2013!

Dresser Makeover

Thrifted Dresser Turned Buffet – This was my first Annie Sloan Chalk Paint project and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I left the hardware as is and it’s one of my favorite pieces!

Lamp Makeover Before & After

Vintage Lamp Makeover – This lamp has incredible sentimental value to me, so I gave it a facelift to fit in with my style a bit more.

DIY Drop Space {Amazing Before and After} | MyBlessedLife.net

DIY Drop Space – The first project I did at Memaw’s was a DIY Drop Space for Lowe’s. It might not look like an involved project, but trust me. It was.

How To Stencil A Wall

How To Stencil A Wall – This was such a fun project! Check out all my tips for a good stenciled wall.

Specimen Art

DIY Playing Card Specimen Art – I used a vintage set of Old Maid cards that were my Granny’s for this project. I really love that they are preserved and safe and I can look at them anytime I want.

Amazing Fireplace Transformation

Amazing Fireplace Transformation – This was the first major renovation project at our new house {Memaw’s} and it has been one of the most rewarding. Brightening up this space made such a difference.

Creating A Cased Opening | MyBlessedLife.netHow to Create A Cased Opening – In the wall opposite the fireplace, there was some water damage. In the process of working on it, I got a wild hair idea to just open up the wall completely. We built a header and I can’t even begin to tell you what a huge blessing it has been to have this space opened up. It makes hospitality wonderful because it’s like one big open area. LOVE it.

10 Tips for Staining Wood Floors | MyBlessedLife.net

10 Dos and Don’ts of Staining Wood Floors – I almost had a heart attacking while doing this project and I think my knees are still recovering, but I learned SO much about how to refinish wood floors. The staining part is very important. 😉

How to Update Kitchen Cabinet Doors on A Dime – Renovating the kitchen isn’t quite complete yet, but we’re getting close! I’m excited to share all the juicy details with you soon! Updating the kitchen cabinet doors made such a huge difference, but it was easy on my wallet. 🙂

Home Tour Collage 2

Christmas Home Tour 2013 – Last, but not least, we moved in right before Thanksgiving and I managed to pull of a Christmas Home Tour, so it’s definitely a project to note. Ha!

  3. I was so sentimental over the fireplace. And now I wonder why. It looks so amazing!! And love it all whitewashed. Just a bright touch to the home!! And this wonderful home is showing your personality too yet has fun memories like Old Maid cards on display as art. I saw the lamp but did not realize you were updating a sentimental piece.
