The Amazing Power of Thieves Essential Oil

/

Hey y’all! I’ve told you all about lemon, purification and peppermint, so today I’m going to let you in on my secret love for Thieves. I’m not kidding. If I could marry Thieves, I would. Wait. That sounds kind of weird. Never mind. Just know that this stuff is in.cred.i.ble.

You’re probably wondering, “Um, okay. What in the world is Thieves? And WHY would you want to marry something that sounds so dangerous?!”

I’m so glad you asked! 🙂 Thieves Essential Oil is called “Thieves” literally because it came from a legend about thieves. Inspired by the legend of four 15th-century French thieves who formulated a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals used while robbing the dead and dying, Thieves is one of Young Living’s most popular products. In exchange for a lesser sentence, they revealed the combination of herbs and spices that they used. Young Living created the Thieves blend in light of this legend.

Why is Thieves so awesome?  The oils that make up Thieves are clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary. This oil smells SO good.

Thieves is perfect for making your house smell good this time of year, as well as, for keeping your family’s immunity supported. We apply it on our feet every single night before bed.

Thieves blend is a spicy oil, so use care if you’re applying on children as it can be “hot.” I always dilute it in coconut oil or olive oil when applying on my children. 🙂

  1. How do you diffuse the oil? Also do you have coconut oil and thieves already mixed up or do you mix it every night when applying it?

    1. Hey Emily! I diffuse with my Essential oil diffusers. They are cool mist diffusers so as to not damage the molecules of the oils.

I dilute the oil in my palm every night. Dilution always sounded so complicated before I started using oils. But now it’s quick and easy. 🙂

  2. I love Thieves. I have recently purchased the cleaner. It makes my house smell wonderful and is not irritating like bleach or other harsh cleaners. I also have made a batch of “whipped coconut oil” and added thieves, lavender, and franks. I use it daily in place of my moisturizer.

  3. I’m a huge fan of Thieves oil. We use it to prevent the spread of colds and flu by diffusing it and making our own hand sanitizer. I love the scent too.

  4. I just finished reading an article on why to use not thieves on children, but I have been using it for months now and it doesn’t seem to bother them. I use it on all of my kids including my 2 month old. At what age did you start applying topically & diffusing around your children? If it was going to affect them would it already have done it or is it something that could happen over time?

    1. Hi Lindsey, Unfortunately there’s a lot of misinformation out there regarding Thieves. I’ve been applying on my children now 2 and 5 for over two years. It is absolutely fine. I diluted on my youngest’s feet when he was a baby, but I don’t even dilute now. True Young Living Thieves is totally fine to apply and diffuse on and around children. 🙂

  5. I have heard about Thieves Essential Oil before. And, after reading this article I have become a huge fan of Thieves Essential Oil. This article is really helpful.
