Simple Layered Fall Display | Fall Decorating

/ /

Good morning, lovelies! I’m totally in the mood to decorate for Fall, so when Chippmunk asked if they could send me on a deal-finding spree to decorate for Fall, I jumped on it as fast as I could. I always love decorating my apple green desk for different seasons, so I shopped for a few things to bring some Fall decorating “bling” to this corner of my living room.

I shopped at Pottery Barn and got two great deals – 10% off of my entire order for signing up for their emails and free shipping for spending over $100. I love the glam of the mercury glass votives and pumpkins. They are perfect for this time of year. My thrifty lamp that I made over recently got a new lamp shade. It’s the best thing besides paint to ever happen to that lamp. 🙂

I created a backdrop for the Fall display with my thrift store mirror and two yard sale frames. I love layering different things together.

A week or so ago I snagged the velvety pumpkins at Homegoods. I nearly squealed with delight, but managed to keep my composure, so as to not embarrass my family.

On my little shopping spree, I bought this lovely lantern. I love that it has a vintage and industrial vibe which is so current right now. I filled the lantern with artificial acorns {that I got from Hobby Lobby at 40% off} and a pillar candle.

To anchor the items on the table and to add texture, I used wide burlap ribbon scrunched up under everything. Nothing says Fall more than burlap.

I bought a few Fall-ish stems from Hobby Lobby and poked them in here and there to bring in more texture and color.

You might have noticed the mercury glass votives scattered here and there on the table. I got a set of six {also from Pottery Barn} and they are so sparkly and fun.

Isn’t the latch on the lantern so pretty? I’m crazy about brass lately.

My favorite things about Fall are the vibrant, earthy colors and jaw-dropping textures. Don’t be afraid to mix a little glamorous mercury glass with velvety textures and burlap too. It all works together so beautifully.

Thank you to Chippmunk for helping me kick off this Fall season in style!

  5. Oh, Myra!! Beautfiful vignette! Your apple green desk was the first post I ever read of yours… I was hooked! Funny story…. when I first saw the picture of your pretty mercury glass pumpkin, I totally thought that was a glass insulator in the background that you had painted red…. theeeeeen I realized it was the base of the lamp! Ha ha!! BUT… isn’t that a grand idea!! I think I will get some of my insulators and see if I can paint them!!! That’d be different, right?!?

  7. It has been over 100 degrees here for over two weeks, I am so ready for fall but this weather usually keeps up until the end of Oct. We usually have the AC on on Thanksgiving and sometimes on Christmas. I hate So. Cal weather. My favorite time of the year is fall and winter. I love leaves and have them all over the house. Love your pumpkins and other decor.
