A Fun Weekend {And I’m SO Glad To Be Home!}

Hey there, dearest blog friends! I have missed you! I didn’t open my laptop for a few days, so I’m a bit behind on everything!  My brother got married in Greenville, South Carolina this past weekend, so it’s been a bit of a whirlwind. I’m thrilled to be home and to get back into a normal {what’s that?} routine!

I thought I would share a few pictures from the weekend….

This is when we arrived at our hotel. Apparently, we took everything except the kitchen sink. 🙂

Thursday evening, we went over to the rehearsal dinner location and found the room looking like the above photo. It was slightly overwhelming since we didn’t have man-power {the guys were out galavanting}, but we pulled through and the rehearsal dinner was everything I hoped it would be. My mom wanted it to be a special “affirming” time for Jer and Anna and it was perfect.

The rehearsal was fun to watch. Anna asked me to be a bridesmaid along with my sister Kelly, but since Jer wanted Ernie {my husband} to be a groomsman, I decided to be in charge of our boys. 🙂 It worked out really well that way. I was so emotional watching Jer walk Mom down the aisle to her seat. My heart and my eyes were overflowing.

After the rehearsal dinner was over and cleanup was done, my siblings and I piled in Mom and Dad’s hotel room on the sectional. It was *such* a sweet family time. I’m so thankful for these people. They are each such a treasure in my heart. And yes, my arm looks like a very awkward appendage. Ha!

Happy Wedding Day! I’m thrilled for these two. 🙂 Look how happy they are!

I love this shot of them leaving for their honeymoon. The joy on their faces is amazing.

We traveled home on Sunday. Both boys traveled really well. This little booger kept me hopping…and smiling. 🙂

I got quite the surprise when I got home and fixed myself a meal. It was St. Patrick’s Day yesterday and when I got to the bottom of my salad, there was a CLOVER on my plate. I was so surprised because I’ve never had clover in my salad mix before. How so very cool!

Three leaf clovers symbolize happiness and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend!

What did you do this past weekend? The weather was so Spring-like around here!

xoxo

  1. Sounds like a wonderful trip, welcome back home! The clover also reminds us of the 3 in 1: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And I’ve never seen a clover in my salad mix either!

  2. Sounds like an awesome trip. My husband, who is a youth pastor, had an activity with our teens this weekend. Loads of fun! The weather was so nice and warm on Saturday and this morning we had a delay for school because of ice! Go figure!

  3. I’ve been reading your post for a while…was very surprised to see a picture of the Morningside auditorium from your brother’s wedding. I grew up in that church and we got married there too! I’m wondering if there are some connections I am missing:)

      1. What an adorable newly wed couple! Your new sister-in-law looks so precious, Myra. Rochelle, I had a Mrs. Grass for a speech teacher at BJU back in the late 70’s. Any connection?

  4. Hi Myra,
Thanks for sharing the pictures of your brother and his new bride – they looked so happy and so sweet together! And the little clover on your plate on St. Patrick’s Day……how fun! Glad you had such a special weekend with your family.
    Blessings,
    Lanita

  5. LOVED reading this post…we were also in Greenville this past weekend-for our daughter’s wedding! What a gorgeous weekend it was for her outdoor wedding! She and her new husband are both BJU grads, she was in the culinary department. Thanks for sharing about your weekend wedding! 🙂
