New Dr. Mom Series!

/

Happy Friday, y’all! I’m really excited to begin a series on Fridays!! I am incredibly passionate about natural living, natural health and natural remedies, just ask my friends and family. Ahem. I’m a little bit on the nutty-nerd side of things and I love sharing information that I learn with others. So, I’m launching my Dr. Mom series – Simple, Natural Tips for Healing & Health. Yay!

I’m not an expert by any means, but I’ve been greatly influenced by my mom, mother-in-law and other family members who have worked for many years to keep their families healthy…naturally.

Each Friday, I will share a different home remedy or natural tip that I use in taking care of my family. 🙂 I am SO excited!

Here are previous posts on natural living topics:

I hope you will join me for this informative and fun series! 🙂

xoxo

  1. Good for you, Myra! I’m a huge fan of modern Western medicine. If it weren’t for modern surgical procedures, my husband and one of my sons would be dead. We are blessed to live less than 15 minutes from Duke Hospital, so we have access to world-class modern care.

But many health issues don’t require modern procedures or pharmaceuticals, so it’s good for people to know about natural remedies, and unfortunately many people just don’t know about them. So your series will be a great resource.

Your series will also be very timely. With all the current talk about healthcare and the cost of it, it’s good to get people thinking about taking responsibility for their own health. There are so many things that people can do to keep themselves healthy so that intervention is not needed!

And, in every situation, we look to the Great Physician. My friend Richard Foster is often asked to pray for people. In his prayers asks for blessings on “God’s friends the doctors”–I’ve heard him use that phrase so many times! So I pray God’s blessings on “God’s friend Dr. Mom.” 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Richella! I love and completely agree with you. I am also thankful for modern medicine and the knowledge that has been gained to save lives. What a blessing!

I think the worlds of modern and natural medicine function best when a balance of both is used. Not one exclusively, but when they dance well together. 🙂

I share more on my thoughts about that in one of the posts that I linked above.

  2. I am THRILLED about this series. I have such a passion for natural healing and try to implement it into our home always! But one thing I know is that I have a lot to learn, and I love that I can learn it from you, a trusted friend and source of goodness! 🙂

  3. Thanks Myra, for doing this! Now, I can look back at this when I want to check on something. Sometimes I write stuff down, but I like this better. Thanks again!

  4. Dr. Mom sounds great! I always want to try more natural remedies, but am usually so overwhelmed I don’t know where to begin. This just may be what I need to get started. Looking forward to the series!
