Collected Fall Mantel {2012}

/ /

Happy, happy day! It has taken all my will power to keep my collected Fall mantel under wraps until today. It came together so easily and far exceeded my expectations. This beautiful season is my favorite and I am thrilled to reflect Fall on the mantel.

Do you love it? I must admit that this Fall mantel is my favorite mantel thus far. I think I say that every time I re-do it. Ha!

My favorite thing about the 2012 Fall Mantel is that I completely shopped my house. Almost every single thing that you see was either a gift or purchased at a thrift store, yard sale, salvage shop or ReStore over the last several years.

Fall Mantel

This is the softest little throw ever. It was a gift to sweet baby boy and I just love it.

Like last year’s mantel, I used my old stove board as the back drop. I love how rustic it is and the rich wood tone is just fabulous. Instead of having everything symmetrical, I decided to mix things up a bit. This “look” didn’t just happen by throwing a bunch of stuff up there, but I spent days of trying various things and looking at them for a while. I like to let decorating projects evolve because they are so much more fun that way.

I layered a large gold frame {a ReStore score!} over the stove board and hung my Burlap and Lace Wreath over the frame. I think it’s quite a lovely combination.

I stacked an old drink box {a yard sale find} and a basket {wedding gift} with gourds and pumpkins. I also have a few dried hydrangea blooms that I stuck in.

Man, I’m so in love with this bamboo director’s chair. I recently found it at the ReStore for $10!! You may remember the yellow and white chevron fabric from both my Spring mantel and Summer mantel‘s this year. It is just so happy.

The pillow came from TJ Maxx a year or so ago.

I have a secret…I don’t actually fill the entire basket with pumpkins. That would get pricey. Instead, I stacked books in the bottom and covered them with burlap before adding the pumpkins and gourds. 🙂

The iron birds figure was a gift from our church when a remodeling project was finished a few years ago. I’m really loving the yellow-y candlestick. It used to be a brown-ish iron, but it blended in too much with the stove board, so I spray painted it and then distressed it with a sanding block. Perfect-o!

Love these little acorn squash!

I found a roll of gold floral wire at the Dollar Tree a few days ago and bought it to go around the candle in the lantern. I think it adds a perfect yellow/gold touch.

Fall Banner

The Burlap and Lace Autumn Banner does a great job of tying all these random items together. It states the purpose to celebrate. Autumn.

That’s a wrap, y’all. I hope you enjoyed this little tour of my Collected Fall Mantel. It sure was fun for me to put together over the last few weeks! Now we get to enjoy it for several weeks. 🙂

Do you have a mantel or table that you decorate for the Fall?

    1. Thanks Karah! I seriously snatched that chair right up. I couldn’t believe the crazy good price either.

  2. In fashion mantels were used differently to showcase what could be the possible uses of it the creativity of someone could actually deliver beauty. Some of you probably underestimated the power of mantels in any case do not.
