DIY Fall Napkin Rings

/ /

Hey y’all!  I hope you’re having a good week!  I’m working on a little more Fall fluffing and nesting this week. I’m really excited about how things are coming together on my dining table.  I’ve had these homemade fall napkin rings on my to-do list forever, so I’m pretty pumped that I finally had time to make them.

I {heart} them!

I had everything on hand, so they were completely free to make. Woot!

DIY Fall Napkin Rings Tutorial

Supplies Needed:

  • Napkin rings
  • Ribbon {I used a vintage sewing measuring tape.}
  • Jute twine
  • Bottle caps
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Buttons
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue & glue gun

I snagged six of these too-sweet-for-me napkin rings at a yard sale several months ago for 0.25.

After a coat of oil rubbed bronze spray paint, the napkin rings time traveled from the 1980s to the 21st century. Ha!

I’ve been collecting bottle caps for a few months, so this was the perfect time to use them. I love the metallic, ruffle-y element that they add to the napkin rings. I cut out scrapbook paper circles and hot glued them inside the bottle caps.

Hot glue is such a beautiful thing!  I layered two buttons in each bottle cap and glued them in place. Cuteness!  Note: The buttons aren’t glued down in the above picture, in case you were wondering.

Glue ribbon {or an old measuring tape or whatever you want} around the outside of the napkin ring.

Then wrap jute twine around where the ribbon {or tape} comes together. I wrapped about a 1 1/2 inch wide strip of jute.

To finish off the napkin ring, I hot glued an embellished bottle cap onto a jute-wrapped napkin ring.

That’s it!  Super easy and absolutely cheap {or free} DIY Fall Napkin Rings!  I’ll show them all to you soon on my Fall decorated dining table. 🙂

Have you done any Fall crafting this week?
