Bamboo Porch Table Makeover

/

I’m so excited to bring to you my bamboo porch table makeover!! It’s been quite a while since I updated a piece of furniture and it felt so good to give this table a face lift.  You can count on it that there will be more furniture makeovers coming soon! 🙂

I love my new bamboo table!

Before & After

I found this cute table at a yard sale for 7.50.  I love the lines, the bamboo texture and the size. I didn’t love the color or the interesting red X on the table top. I’ve been on the lookout for a table for our front porch and this one met the bill! Yay!

I broke out my Krylon Satin White dual paint and primer and spray painted that table within an inch of it’s orange-y wood life.

I put it on the front porch between our very red lawn chairs.  Okay, so I don’t *love* the way it looks between those chairs. We really do need to find more comfortable and appropriate chairs, but these will do for now. Maybe I’ll find some on clearance soon.

Anyway, I wanted to make it pretty for y’all {and for me}, so I dragged out my dining room arm chairs.

And yes, I’m absolutely positive that my across-the-street-elderly-neighbors think I’m a crazy person who is constantly moving furniture around or taking pictures in contorted positions. Haha!

Y’all.  I love my front porch. Don’t you just want to come over for a front porch chat?

I have to tell you about my mirror. Do y’all call this a sunburst or a starburst? I’ve heard both, but I have no idea if they are both right or not. Help me!

Anyway, I found the mirror at Old Time Pottery in the 50% off clearance pile because one of the mirrored “spokes” was cracked. Can you see it – the long spoke just to the right of the center? In comparison to similar mirrors that are going for at least 150.00 buckaroos, mine cost a very reasonable $20! 🙂

I love that I have two massive hydrangea bushes to cut from!

This chippy wood bench needs some attention soon.

The power of spray paint is amazing, isn’t it?! This bamboo table was the perfect addition to this space because we can eat out here, have snacks and entertain front porch company! 🙂

Can you see why I adore my porch?   The painted concrete floor, the planked gray ceiling, the awnings…all of it just makes me so happy. Sitting on the porch is a peaceful, serene experience. Living in an 126 year old home with a small, adorable porch has made me a porch believer…for life.

Do you have a front porch, back porch or patio that you get to enjoy?

Your front porch is lovely…sweet tea would be wonderful on it 🙂

    Hugs,

  3. Love the porch!!! I love garage sales I have gotten so many great things so cheap. My favorite is Salvation Army,I have gotten a tv wall unit in pristine condition for 199.00,if I had bought new over 2000.00. Yippy!!! Porch is fab!!!

  4. I love it! I even like your red chairs! Maybe just a couple of comfy pillows on them would make you like them more? Your comment about your neighbors made me laugh! I’m pretty sure every time one of my neighbors sees me, they are thinking, “what is she DOING?” LOL!

  6. Would love to see more pictures of the outside of your house. Your DIY projects inspire me, but I always wish you were here to help when I try anything:)

  7. Great find on that table! I did like the pop of color with the red chairs but the dining room chairs are much prettier. Your porch is very charming and welcoming and if I had a front porch I would spend some time there just relaxing. We have a big patio in the back and do spend lots of time there when it’s not too hot or too cold.

  8. Fabulous find! I have a great patio in my backyard where I have my morning coffee or evening tea, but after seeing your pics, I would really love a front porch….my “stoop” out front just doesn’t cut it! Great job…it’s beautiful, cozy and so inviting!

  9. I am definitely a porch person! Front porch, that is. Even though where we live now (on a dead end street with only three houses…and we own two of the three!), there isnt much to watch but the hummingbirds, birds, squirrels and our chickens! It is still so nice to sit out on the front porch in our white wood rocking chairs and relax. I love it most in the Spring and Summer when everything is in full bloom.

  10. I have a back patio that we are just starting to work on and enjoy. Our goal is to have the patio done and work on the yard to prep for a small flock of chickens in the spring!

I call that type of mirror a starburst.
