Spring Mantel

/ / /

I’m just about giddy to share my Spring mantel with you!  One of the things that I miss about the house we sold was our beautiful mantel/fireplace.  The casa doesn’t have a fireplace but, when I found a mantel for $40 at the ReStore, I decided to go for a faux fireplace.

We finally got the mantel installed last week and I’ve had so much fun decorating it for Spring!

{swoon}

My sweet husband and I went thrift shopping on our anniversary {He rocks like that!} and we found the mirror for $15!  I used cabinet doors that I pulled out of the kitchen on each side of the mirror. I love the contrast and texture of the doors.

Last week I picked up the watering can from a thrift store for $3. Love it!  That messy bookcase in the mirror is a project for another day…just keeping it real! 🙂

Tulips, aren’t they beautiful?

I love my Red Letter Words piece.  Everything that Dee creates is fabulous!

I saved some of the hardwood flooring nails from the bathroom remodel.  I love how they look in my old Ball jar!

Old books make the best accessories!

Holla! 🙂

The arm chairs are just begging to be slipcovered. Maybe I’ll get brave one day and slipcover them – Miss Mustard Seed style!

My “Grow Banner” is easy and frugal to make.  Isn’t it cute?!

You can catch a peek at the newly remodeled bathroom in this picture.  Just excuse the ladder…ahem.

One last fun peek!

Thanks for stopping by today!  What’s your favorite Spring flower?

    1. Thanks Cherie! 🙂 The “screen” is an old window with fabric tacked on the back. 🙂 Fun!!

  1. Love your mantel…those cabinets doors are darling…amazing what works…..I would have never looked twice at those doors but on your mantel they are perfect!

    1. Thanks Lisa! You know…the mantel needed something and I just happened to remember those cabinet doors. They “made” the mantel. 🙂

  4. Oh my goodness! I LOVE the way it all looks together. What a great way to still have mantle, and I love the cupboard doors with the mirror, the jars, the birdcage… not sure I can pick a favorite element. Beautifully done! And, my favorite spring flower is a tulip 🙂

  5. I love tulips! I have always liked them! I wanted them for my wedding but I got married in July. I love your your decor! Wish I had a fireplace!

  6. So glad to see your spring mantle! Beautiful! I just did my mantle yesterday. You alway do a great job and I look forward to seeing what else you’ve got up your sleeve at the Casabella!

  7. LOVE IT! Now I want one. Aside from your green desk, this might be my favorite project of yours!!!!

  8. Love it, Myra! You are so great at styling. Me…not so much. 🙂
I have a fireplace in my room that I never decorate! I’m too skeered!
Love those tulips and Dee’s print. Oh, and the banner!

    1. Thanks so much Traci! 🙂 You are amazing at styling…whatchu talkin’ about?! I hope you have a fabulous day! xoxo

  9. It looks great, Myra! The nails in the Ball jar is a cute, personal touch. Now, tell me about the fireplace screen. That is adorable! I’ve never seen anyone do anything like that before. Do you change out the fabric for different seasons?

    1. Thanks Tricia! I had an old window that was already attached to a base. I tacked fabric on the back. I probably will change it out for seasons. My goal is to eventually add more to the fireplace “surround” area to make it look more like a real fireplace. 🙂

  10. Hi Myra,

How lovely is this! I think my favorite part is the mirror, it stands out so well, and how great to find a round one.

I’m thinking of slipcovering too, but haven’t taken the plunge yet!

    Happy Spring 🙂

  11. Your mantel is gorgeous!!! This is what I would want my mantel to look like (if I had one.) 🙂

My favorite spring flower is anything with color! LOL I’m usually beyond craving green and any flowers by springtime in Indiana. 🙂

  12. Oh.. this is sooooo cute! I love all the textures you used! I wish I had the creativity to do something something like this. It takes me forever to finish a project. I realized I am a perfectionist {It’s a big downfall}. I am going to need you to come over and help me with all my unfinished projects. Great job! I am in love with your mantel. =)

    1. Thanks for your sweet comment, Jovi! I’m a perfectionist too, but I’m changing and embracing the beauty of imperfection. It’s empowering and I’m loving the results. 🙂

  13. Love the mantel – it is beautiful! What a beautiful mirror – and I also love all the different textures you used. ~Kim

  15. I adore tulips! So pretty! Your faux fireplace is fab! I love all the colors! I love how you’ve arranged everything. You just got me looking in my living to see if maybe I could put chairs in front of it like this. We don’t burn fires so I could possibly.

  16. I love your mantel. You have lots of great touches here – especially love the grow banner, the fruit of the spirit art, and the print behind the fire screen. Thanks for sharing!

  17. I am in love with this mantel. I can’t believe you scored that mirror for 7 dollars! We have the same mirror with a white frame (above a black console), and it was pricey. I love the cabinet doors, and I LOVE the Fruits of the Spirit sign. Everything is beautiful.
I shared this post on my Friday Favorites post today. Feel free to grab a featured button if you want it. Have a beautiful weekend!

  18. I love that you kept the flooring nails and put them in that jar. They look cute and are sentimental – love it!! By the way, I wouldn’t have noticed the bookcase. Great job. 🙂

  19. As much as I love your fresh spring mantel, I love the shower curtain the the background more! Is that burlap that is spy??? I feel a shower curtain face lift coming on! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Ha! It’s actually not a shower curtain, but a drop cloth curtain panel. I had them flanking the living room windows. 🙂

  20. Hi Myra,

I know this is an old post, but I love your mantel so much that I featured it on my blog today. Just wanted to let you know!
