Friday Fails – Where Do I Begin?

Photobucket

This week I’ve been playing catch up since we got back from our trip to Canada.  I haven’t done quite enough because I’ve had a few epic fails. My “catching up” has been on sleep, resting and playing with Ridley.  Apparently I lost my mind along the way somewhere, but I’ll tell you about that in a minute.

In the rush to get out the door on our vacation two weeks ago, I hurriedly piled dishes in the dishwasher to get them out of sight. Somehow I forgot about them until today (maybe because I haven’t cooked all week long).  Ahem, fail.

Even though we’ve been home for four days, the floorboard of the car still looks something like this.  To make it even better, I think there are some rotten ripening bananas in there. Niiiice.

And our suitcases might still be overflowing with clothes (and shoes) that need to be unpacked. At least I’ve had the decency to do the laundry, so we have clean undies something to wear.

Today, I’ve been psychotically cleaning in preparation for my friend Cherie and her family to arrive. I cleaned, cooked and baked.

Toll House failed me miserably today. I bought cookie dough because I knew I wasn’t going to have time to make homemade cookies.  Wait, I never make homemade cookies.  I’ve never had a problem with Toll House before, but the cookies wouldn’t hold together…a crumbled, failed mess.

Until, I remembered that I’m going to serve ice cream for dessert, so I just crumbled the cookies for a wonderful ice cream topping! #failaverted

To top off my motherload of fails this week, I failed to carefully read the emails from Cherie about when they will arrive. I thought it was tonight, but actually it’s tomorrow night. Dum, dum, dum.

I’m not just a dork, but I’ve reached queendom of dorkville. Yes, folks that’s me.

Are you cracking up?  I’m dying laughing at myself.

Have you ever wondered if I’ve completely lost it? This would be that time. Ha!

  1. Hah! I’m totally cracking up reading this. I’m especially thankful for the clean, ahem, clothes. 🙂

  2. I am joining up with Friday Fails this week. I accidentally clicked send before I entered the new link. Sorry about that.

What a week you’ve had. It sounds like you need a vacation to recover from the vacation. I’m off to see where you visited in Canada (I live in Canada).

    Blessings Honey

  3. Hello Mrs. Myra,
I was wondering when you’re going to post about the Marie-Madeline giveaway winners?!? (if you already did, where?) I just can’t wait to hear the winners! 😉

  4. What a week for you!!! Hopefully you are getting caught up and organized again.

Once again I had a fail to share but didn’t write a post! I will save it for next week 😉 Working the early mornings I have been and not having superb Internet connections where I am living has really weened me from the computer!

  5. Iused to think I failed as a mother when one of my kids did something….BUT by this time I know better. My single son went to VA for 2 wks in May.When Iwent down to stay with his kitties in July, he was still “living” out of the suitcase which to me was just funny as both of us unpack in motel rooms so we don’t have to live out of the suitcase. Dishes I found in the washer, unwashed…he couldn’t remember when he loaded it and since he had been eating out ( job was paying for it) he hadn’t missed anything. He did a stash and dash before I got there, throwed all the items in the clothes hamper and then stuck it in the corner of the bedroom with a table cloth over it.It looked nice until the cats pulled the cloth off and played in the unopened mail.LOL.BUT hey at least it wasn’t in the washer and dryer or the oven like his sisters has done which both have caught mail on fire in the oven, forgot stuff was in the washer and kicked it on for laundry or turned on the dryer and melted crayons and stick glue.

  6. Oh Myra! Your house was beautiful when we arrived, but even more beautiful were the people who lived inside! We could have totally related to the unpacked suitcases, as I am sure after our visit at your house, it will be DAYS before everything is put away around here.

And the crumbled toll house cookies were so very yummy, as was everything else you so lovingly prepared! Thanks for loving on us!
