Bacon-Cheese Tartlets

/

It wouldn’t be the holidays without appetizers and party starters made with Pillsbury’s Crescent Rolls, would it? The versatility and simplicity of Crescent Rolls make whipping up a great “crowd-pleaser” quick and easy, which is a “cook-pleaser” too!

We love using up our turkey leftovers in a Turkey Cranberry Wreath. Another hit is Pigs in a Blanket.

On Christmas Eve, I made Bacon-Cheese Tartlets for a yummy appetizer before our traditional meal. Everyone loved them! They would also be perfect for breakfast or brunch. You can read the original recipe and here is my modified creation!

Bacon-Cheese Tartlets

  • 1 (8oz) can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 1/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 T. red onion, chopped
  • 1 T. salsa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 T. milk

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll dough into 1 large rectangle. Press into 12×9 rectangle on work surface, firmly pressing perforations to seal.

Cut dough into 12 squares. Gently press each square into ungreased mini muffin cups, shaping edges to form rim 1/4 inch high. Carefully spoon cheese into dough-lined cups. Top each with bacon and onion. In a small bowl, beat egg and milk with a fork until well-blended. Add salsa and mix well. Spoon slightly less than 1 Tablespoon into each cup.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown and filling is set. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from muffin cups and serve.

Enjoy!
