The ONLY way I'm able to keep the need-to-be-folded clothes under control is to fold them as I take them out of the dryer. It works! Try it.

So glad I came across your blog. I sure know what you mean as my baby is 1 year. He is walking now and keeps me busy and seems to undo anything faster than I can do it!

I have been needing something to help me organize and mananage my time better so I am going to do a home managment binder as well. Stop by my blog as I hope to post a post about it soon. It is not up yet but I plan on mentioning some links I have found. So glad to know someone else understands!

Blessings!

Hi Myra,

Here's a challenge for you! Try this every day for 1 week and see if your laundry woes are lessened!

First thing in the morning - before you do anything else!!! - throw in 1 load of laundry.

By the time you've gotten ready for the day it will be ready for the dryer so throw it in the dryer right away.

When it is dry hang up anything that wrinkles or needs hangers and throw the rest in a laundry basket.

(I have a door on my laundry room and I have put an over-the-door hook on it so I can just hang up the laundry right there as I take it out of the dryer. I also keep my empty hangers hanging up in the laundry room over the washer and dryer so it's easy for me to do! I also hang everything I can because to me it is easier than folding!)

Put the laundry basket somewhere where you can work on it as you have time during the day - kitchen table, sofa, bed?. (I'm very blessed to have my laundry room attached to the kitchen! So, I just leave it on the laundry room floor and grab it when I can.)

Make it your goal to just fold and put away that one load each day and don't stress about what's still in the hamper!

This method works really well for me. There are times I don't get the rest of the load folded until I'm working on dinner or until the kids go to bed - but that's okay my goal is to get it done - sometime that day. And it feels good to get that goal done and I don't feel guilty about what's in the hamper because I'll do 1 more tomorrow.

It makes laundry manageable - I would be so very overwhelmed if I had to tackle a whole week's worth of laundry! I've tried many different methods - but I have found this way to be the least stressful and I can usually find a few minutes here and there to get that one basket done.

Let me know if you try this out - I really think you'll notice a big difference!

I have a simple notebook I've put together and I'd be glad to email it to you if you would like.

I have the entire week on 2 pages so I can look at the whole week at once. I even schedule our homeschool lessons on it too!

If I get too complicated I won't keep up with it - so for me simple it best!

Just email me at Frugalindy@gmail.com if you would like a copy.

I have to have a schedule and routine or I just get nothing done! But that doesn't mean I get it all done with my binder all prettied up anyway, I just get more done than I do without it!

I love the fly lady site. I have been using it for about 5 years off and on. There are tips for putting together a controle journal (The binder you were talking about) and tons of advice on getting your house clean and organized and keeping it that way. She even uses a zone schedual so that you can deep clean one area of your house a week. It's so easy to get started. Her first assignment is to shine your kitchen sink. It makes a huge difference. http://www.flylady.net/
